Indianapolis, Indiana – February 19, 2012 – Dealernews Expo – PowerSport Institute (PSI), a branch campus of Ohio Technical College and International Master Bike Builders Association (IMBBA) with the assistance of Joe Distefano, Director, are truly making history in the power sport industry as they forged the partnership of the two companies recently. In combining their expertise to improve, track progress, and serve education to the students on the IMBBA/Chopper Institute of America’s latest website, they have taken the educational process to a new level where there are no peers.
PSI’s focus is to educate and sustain the highest level of customer satisfaction to support the industry’s current and future technicians. The LMS will enable students to track accomplishments, grades, and certifications from beginning to the end of their career. This insures that potential employers, customers, and the technicians themselves have access to a comprehensive accounting of the tech’s education, experience, and ability from day one of their entrance into the industry. The system is designed for worldwide use as an open source management system of the records, life, and times of all who participate in the motorcycle industry currently or in the future.
The students will also have access to the latest updates from participating companies. For the first time, after market companies will be providing IMBBA their educational / training materials and together with the Chopper Institute of America will provide courses for students and all IMBBA members on this system. “The LMS will facilitate further PSI’s ongoing programs that focus on education supporting the industry with technical training, assessing, and recognizing “Life Long Learning” “said Bernie Thompson, PSI Campus Director.
The Open Source System, soon to be known as the “MY MOTORCYCLE EDUCATION” portal will also provide the students, professionals, and employers a new insight to the students and professionals level of education and experience…….this all will lead to a certification in levels of Technician 1&2, Bike Builder Levels 1&2, and Master Bike Builder Level 1&2 as certified by IMBBA. “The PSI partnership adds a depth of knowledge and resources that create an educational group second to none!!” Said Jeff Starke, IMBBA President.
Joe Distefano adds, “This Partnership for the Future will have such positive impact on the educational process and the industry in general, words can not describe how huge this truly is!
Any company manufacturing bikes, parts, accessories, etc. can get in on this program. For the first time in history, students and existing industry professionals will have one source to obtain the training as it pertains to specific brands and not just a general base of knowledge.
In my opinion, any company interested in maintaining a reputation for quality, should be interested in the training necessary to maintain the highest level of ability as industry professionals sell, use, and install their products. This program fits the bill like no other!”
