Best ATVs, Personal Watercraft and Snowmobiles of 2012

Do you like tearing it up on the slopes, cutting hard edges while floating on water or watching dust fly behind your tracks? Here are some of the fastest PowerSport snowmobiles, ATVs and PWCs on the market today.

If you are a rough water rider or prefer to take your PWC on the open blue, the 2012 Sea-Doo RXT-X aS 260 was designed for your type of riding. What makes it unique is the nitrogen-charged remote oil reservoir located in the glove box that allows the rider to adjust the suspension to ultimately stiffen or soften the ride. The 2012 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 300X, also designed for big-water, added an electric trim that allows the driver to drop the nose as the watercraft turns for better grip while carving an aggressive turn. If you are more of a lake rider, the 2012 Yamaha FZR added rounded chines that allow the driver to lean in, resulting in precise turning.

If you are more into ATV riding, here are the top five ATVs of the year according to www.ATV.com users. The Honda TRX 400X takes the No. 1 spot with all five stars in performance, quality and reliability, ride and comfort, and value. Following this ATV was the 2012 Can-Am Renegade 800R X xc, 2012 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO, 2012 Can-Am Outlander 800R X mr and the Polaris Sportsman 550.

Lastly, for those who prefer the cooler ride on fresh powder, Polaris and Arctic Cat have been taking the lead in the snowmobile industry. Polaris added a Switchback series, a true touring Adventure sled and expanded its powder line this 2012 season. Arctic Cat has been keeping busy, too, this 2012 season designing its new Pro-Series models with new chassis and suspension systems.

If ATVs, snowmobiles and personal watercraft interest you, think about becoming a part of the PowerSport industry, and consider learning more at the PowerSport Institute in Ohio. You could become a PowerSport specialist and perform maintenance on PowerSport vehicle engines, fuel systems, suspension and chassis, and electrical systems.
