Career Services

motorcycle mechanics jobsOur goal is for all students to graduate and begin successful careers that they enjoy and are well-rewarded for doing. Career Services is the key bridge between our students and  alumni to our current and potential employers.

Career Placement at PowerSport Institute offers career employment assistance to each student successfully completing our curriculum. Common sense and Ohio state law specifically prohibits the guarantee of any kind of employment; however, PSI's placement process is designed to make the most of the student's skills and abilities. Prior to graduation, each student participates in a job seeking skills seminar that covers resume writing, communicating with potential employers, the interviewing process and after interview follow-up. Having created self-developed leads and then combining these with referrals from the Career Services department, the student contacts the companies by sending their professional resumes and cover letters following with a call or appearance to talk with employers and schedule interviews to complete the hiring process. It is through such follow-up initiative that students receive the job opportunities that lead to employment.

In addition, employers are welcome to visit the school with the intention of seeing first hand the exposure of professional work habits, troubleshooting diagnostics, and manufacturer specific training that PSI provides to our students. Therefore, they can then make a sound decision to choose professional trained individuals as their next employees. This also provides our students with the ability to introduce themselves and possibly discuss career opportunities with a company representative.

Placement assistance is rendered after graduation for as long as the graduate needs our services. PSI continues the placement procedure through consistent updates of our graduates. These checks determine the graduates' success and establish whether additional assistance is necessary.

Part-Time Job Assistance is also available. We understand that a large number of our students will need to work in order to afford their education and living expenses while enrolled. Our Career Services department maintains a substantial list of local part-time and full-time job opportunities and will assist students in contacting these companies, as well as assisting with filling out online applications, resume writing, interviewing techniques and more.
